lump in throat

I’m now 20 months post Ivor Lewis and was doing ok until October when I had a ruptured Hiatus Hernia resulting in Gastroparesis. That’s been more or less resolved with 3 stretches and motility drugs .

My problem over the last 3 weeks or so is pain in the middle of my chest/back (as though it’s deep within, if you know what I mean) and the feeling of a lump in the right side of my throat when I swallow.

I choke occasionally but the lump is there all the time as is the pain.

my greatest fear is that my cancer is back !

if in any doubt,go straight back to surgeon or your key worker..maybe nothing, but you don’t need the stress of worry ..

hi Deedals, agree with Telford… ring your nurse today and get checked out. We can turn ourselves inside out with worry on a good day can’t we! Don’t suffer with all that worry. Let us know how you get on.

Go and get a check, it could be nothing but as Telford hiker says you don't need the worry

I have a pain in the middle of my back have had since about 9months post op. They said it was damage to the nerves from the spreaders used during the op. I have had various treatments for pain, it is worse if I do any movement . But nearly 13 years on still here. But I don't have a lump or pain in my throat. They may not be related

Good luck

hi ,

I agree you should get checked out as stress won’t do you any good.

Hopefully it is nothing.

Good Luck

thank you for thinking of me. Had a review with my surgeon on 7th who was concerned about my symptoms enough to send me for a CT Scan on 15th.

He rang me next day to say there was no evidence of cancer but he wants to refer me to an ENT specialist regarding my change of voice. He thinks it may be scar tissue affecting the vocal chords.

Comforting to hear that its not cancer and all the best with further tests. Take care and God bless. 🤗
