I am two years post op and it’s hard to remember what all was ‘normal’ but I do remember that feeling in my throat a lot. It got a lot better but I will still get very full feelings in my throat some days.

The first year was one thing after another with all of these making a person feel quite scared wondering what was going on. Breath deep and check with your doxtor when you are concerned. It takes awhile to learn what our new system is meant to be like and how we cope.

Hi Von66,

I’m 12 weeks post surgery and yes I get that feeling in my throat too.. it’s worse when I sit or lay down and feels like a ball of trapped wind. I get a funny taste a lot too.. some days worse than others. I just keep telling myself it’s early days and my body is still learning how to live with it’s new plumbing. Sue x

Ah that’s good to hear, yes it does make us feel a lot better. I’ve been worrying about it too then read your post and thought ah you’re so close to me in surgery date it must be normal! I do keep telling myself that what we’ve been through is massive and all these different feelings must be normal but it sometimes doesn’t work. Sue
