I would be interested to hear if others have this with reflux or if this might be something else? I have acid reflux and was diagnosed around 6 years ago now. I've been on ppi's since then and it's generally under control. Recently though i've started getting and aching/burning pain in the centre of my chest and off to the right. While it's a burning pain it doesnt feel quite like heartburn which i've had before (i have silent reflux so it's not common though). That feeling comes and goes but i've also started to notice what feels like a pressure pain on the right, just off the centre where my breastbone is. It's not always there but it is quite a lot of the time. I tend to wake up with it but i cant tell if it is triggered by anything. Its a bit mixed up because i do have bad right shoulder pain and occassional pain under my right ribs which the docs think is due to endometriosis on my diaphragm and this pain is directly in front of the shoulder pain. I'm not sure if its linked to the shoulder pain/endo or possibly reflux or maybe just muscular pain from stress due to feeling awful and in pain all the time. Does anyone else get this and is there anything people can suggest?
Thanks,

Time for referral to GI consultant for an endoscopy to find what is happening to your sphincter. The pains associated with the reflux can feel like around, hence mainly mixed up with heart related symptoms.
I'm trying with my gp at the moment but unfortunately covid has made it very hard to get one unless i'm showing signs of something more serious. I did have a scope years ago and i know that picked up a sliding hiatial hernia so theres obviously issues but its frustrating that its flared up again after being good for so long.
I am still waiting 8 months on from cardiac department for an appointment. My wife last week received a letter from hospital that because of current situation her wait on treatment will be further delayed and to contact GP if situation deteriorates.
Have you tried gaviscon advance to manage for the moment
I have, either that or peptac. Its great but unfortunately the relief doesnt last very long. I'll keep trying with the gp. I ended up getting referred yesterday for a chest xray as they wanted to check my lungs so results should be back in a week and the gp should be booking a call within a week. Since posting i've spoke to a few people that have suggested it may be my hiatial hernia pushing up which is the pressure and then its causing increased reflux symptoms. I've read a few things about helping to push a sliding hiatial hernia down so i'll give that a try for now
I am trying to get referred with my GP. Unfortunately they are saying as i only had one a couple of years ago which showed a hiatial hernia and i'm not showing any red flag symptoms (age, certain symptoms etc.) Its unlikely i'll get one anytime soon with covid. I'll definitely keep trying though!
