I had a total gastrectomy 7.5 years ago and have suffered with swallowing issues ever since plus bile reflux. I take Omeprazol 2 x 20mg daily and Domperidone 3 x 10mg daily to supposedly help keep the bile down. With this medication I continue to have bad bouts of reflux during the day, not so much at night anymore, that can go on for a few hours. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has or had similiar issues and what medication they are taking for it that has helped them.
Many thanks

Sorry to know you are still suffering with the issues.
Swallowing, believe this has been looked I to your GI consultant at hospital with endoscope and stretch or a series of stretches have been already carried out on your anastomosis in the oesophagus. Perhaps a dissolving stent in the area.
Omeprazole is PPI family drug works as acid suppressant and not necessarily good for bile treating.
Domperidone is use for nausea and vomiting but reading right is unlicensed for treating quick emptying of gastric content. I maybe totally out of depth here.
Having said that there were patients who have written about their bile issues and treatments they got, on this forum. Suggest a forum search may be helpful too. Sometimes along with appropriate medicine a stretch of bowel sphincter helps passing the food contents from stomach.
