I have a hiatus hernia and take 40 mg Omeprazole daily along with peptic liquid before bed. I can go for weeks without an attack then for no apparent reason I can be sitting up all night with the pain. Recently on holiday I had bad reflux and a Dutch friend gave me a sachet of liquid Sandoz Sucralphate which seemed to magically stop the reflux. I was wondering if any other members have experience of using both drugs together. My pharmacist says Sucraphate is POM and needs my GP's agreement.
Thanks DM

Hi yes i take Lansoprazole gaviscon and Sucralfate. I can only get the liquid version from the hospital. I am 3 years post oesphagal cancer and suffered bad reflux and a lot of silent burping still get reflux on odd occasions but Sucralfate helps .
Thanks I spoke to my pharmacist who said sucralfate was old school and didn't think gp would prescribe. Sometimes the old ways still work. Will ask GP.
Thanks for your reply only had a few sachets from my friend which seemed to work although could just have been a coincidence. Will visit GP and ask for some to try over a longer period.
