Hi Ricecake 92

Ask your GP to refer you for an endoscopy. I had stomach and bowel pain for 4 months on a daily basis, though not continuously. Was told to take Gaviscon, which did not work at all. I too, had an ache in my back for at least a year. I had put it down to maybe posture trouble and did not seek advice. Anyway, I had an endoscopy done in March, which revealed stomach cancer. I am lucky it does not seem to have spread and I will have my stomach removed in 2 days time. After the endoscopy I was prescribed Omeprazole, which has taken the pain away. So please, if you are given medication that takes your pain away do not take it for granted that all is fine. Insist on the endoscopy and possibly CT scan.

Best wishes

Hi ayayay

Sorry for the news.

I have been to my gp yesterday he said my liver and kidney were fine.

He referred me to have a ultrasound to see my stomach and pancreas.

Thank you so much for replying to me

I have to say i did not expect that at all and i hope that everything will go well for you.

If you dont mind me asking how old are you?

Also best of luck for your operation keep me update xx

It has been difficult for me to decide whether to go for the op or just bow out gracefully without intervention and bide my time however long or short that may be since I am 82 - ah, and a half. Even my surgeon told me he doesn't know what he would choose if he were in my boots.

Anyway, I hope everything turns out fine for you. Do not worry yourself sick over what may or may not be in the future. It never helps. Instead, enjoy every moment of your life. xx

Sorry, I did not intend to make you feel sad and even more anxious. Remember, not everything turns out to be sinister, in fact, most tests and scans show that everything is fine. Look at it from that angle. All the best
