Hi, so ever since I got diagnosed with acute gastritis it's been a challange for me to swallow food easily, swallowing food has been associated with struggling and pain... Like the kind of pain that can make me cry and just want to wash it away with a drink of water.... Only that this makes it harder to swallow... Especially foods like bananas, cooked potatoes, meat and bread

How long ago were you diagnosed? Are you on any medication for the gastritis? Have you been to see your doctor? Where is the pain - in your gullet, or stomach?

If food is getting stuck in your gullet, then you urgently need to see your GP and get referred for an endoscopy. In the meantime, I would suggest that you avoid bread, chewy foods like red meat, and high fibre foods like bananas.

I've been under medication like omez, ranferon, sucrafil ogel, flatameal, relcergel etc... Been hospitalized too,got a barium meal test which confirmed the gastritis, an endoscopy that showed nothing and now I have to do a CT scan.... The pain is just below my sternum, it either just burns and during this it's actually really hard to swallow food, I like have to force it down which becomes painful

Hi

You mention that you have been diagnosed, so what has your GP prescribed as treatment?

Have you requested a referral for an endoscopy?

This is something nearly all on this site have experienced but diagnosed with different condition to you so our treatment will not be relevant to you, after treatment again the way we live will not be relevant, so you do need to seek medical advise from you GP or hospital consultant asap.

Kind regards

Dave
