The poppy is not a badge of honour, nor a racist smear.

It's not a fashion statement, to be worn but once a year.

It's not glorification of conflict nor of war.

It's not a paper ornament - the poppy is much more.

It's a loving memory of a father or a son.

A permanent reminder of each and every one.

Made of paper or enamel, old or shiny new.

It's a a way of saying thank you to those who died for you.

The poppy stands as a reminder to you all.

That courage, faith and honour will stand where heroes fall.

Is this your poem?

It's loosely based on a poem I read a couple of years ago, but reflects my beliefs of the meaning of the Rememberance Poppy. I hope you enjoyed it.

Wear your poppy with pride Jules,

LLAP, Eric 👍 🙋
