Hello everyone,I was diagnosed with Esophageal Candidiasis yesterday when I ended up at my Doctors Office getting a prescription filled out from another Doctor who shares the same Office as mine did,..I say did because, back 4months ago my Doctor had left Nova Scotia to move his practice to the States. I went in for a visit with this undoing issue for 2yrs without knowing what was wrong and asked for him to check up on it threw a scope (I also waited over a year for.) However I had Blood work sitting around the Secretary Desk for 4months that needed to be picked up at the time and have it read to me by a Walk-In Clinic (That won't read or sign anything because, the policy is it has to be a Family Doctor)That I had the chance to have it read off to me yesterday by the Doctor I got to see who wrote me out a prescription in my old Doctors Office. I've been threw a lot the very moment I got sick with this from downt to the Emergency Department,to Scopes,Blood work,Dermatalagest and me requesting more Blood work. This been going on for over 2yrs and finally I know now what it's called but don't know much about it

If you download 'A Patient's Guide to Achalasia' from the website of the Oesophageal Patients Association (go to The oesophagus and then Achalasia) you will find some hints about coping with this. You still need the medication and you will not necessarily have achalasia, it is just that that is where the hints are located.
