Pocketing

After 10 months of recuperation from a stage 4 bleeding aneurysm my husband has returned to normal eating. 6 weeks ago he had his peg removed after 3 months of non use.Normal eating is now past tense as, now he is pocketing his food. He has now been assessed with speech therapy who has found he has no problems with his swallow. There appears to be no medical reason for his pocketing. After observation we have noticed that the use of a straw is part of problem as it introduces too much fluid into mouth too quickly. Does anyone have any ideas what might be contributing to the problem. Number 1 fear is choking and of course being underweight and healing severe bed wound are other concerns does anyone know any reasons for pocketing food. Hospital food is healthy but not very appetizing and of course long hospital stay is also a factor. He gets lots of home cooking but still pockets. Anyone got yanidea
