Hi my husband has been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer on Friday by endyscope they taken 3 biopsies which we should have the results this week . She explained there are 2 types of cancer you get there so won't know what treatment till she gets the results. My question is he is eating small amounts of smooth food but he keeps getting this clear phlegm coming up constantly threw the day and night is this normal .

Sorry to hear this Bacardi. My experience with my Dad is that this is normal. This happened to him and a few others I know on here.

Although everyone is different.

Hi Amy thank you for your reply . The oncology nurse phoned to talk join through what treatments were available for this type of cancer and to advise him he has a scan a week on Thursday to see if it has spread and about keeping his calorie count up , she said the Dr would phone as soon as they get the results . It is such a worrying time as he is such a healthy man . Jane x

Hi Bacardi, it is a massive thing to take in. I remember it well when my husband was diagnosed 3 and half years ago. There are two types and they will plan the treatment accordingly. We met with a Specialist nurse when the tests came back and she was a great source of information to us as is this site. Take care and keep us posted xx
