There are some hints and tips on oesophageal thrush / candidiasis in A Patient's Guide to Achalasia that you can download from opa.org.uk/pages/achalasia.... towards the bottom of the page. It is an unpleasant condition and can take some time to get rid of.
It is not surprising that your saliva and taste buds are affected.
Sorry to hear of your situation and the misery it doubtless causes.
Martie Whittekin's book 'Natural Alternatives to Nexium, Maalox, Tagamet, Prilosec and other Acid Blockers' covers the subject of candida overgrowth in some detail, including what may be done to overcome it. It has been one of my 'go to' sources since my brother was diagnosed with OC nearly 4 years ago. He is doing very well and remains in complete remission 3 years after surgery.
Another crucial resource for us has been the Cancerative.com website, where candida is again discussed at great length and all recommendations there are evidence based. Remember, there is no law that says you must not help yourself.
