I am not sure I had a CT scan but I certainly had a camera view my insides from that angle, the nurses were great very reassuring and I could have been sedated but I chose not....... personal dislike of staying in a hospital longer than I needed. The worst part by miles was the two days of medicine before, a real experience, I didn't realise body intestinal transit could be so fast....... Like anything though once it's over you move on, good luck I hope it works out for you☺️

I have had an endoscopy and colonoscopy five times as I was a bowelcancer risk. The prep for the two days before is a bit unpleasant and so is the endoscopy and colonoscopy but truly nothing to worry about. On my last colonoscopy they discovered a stage three cancer, I had a third of my bowel removed with a stay in hospital for five days. That was August last year. Now I’m back to normal. Luckily no cancer cells were found in the adjacent lymph nodes. So no Chemotherapy necessary. Good luck and keep positive.

That sounds like a colonoscopy. I had one in early 2013 and I have the video! It showed I was clear at that end. A huge relief. I asked for a general anaesthetic and just felt nothing before during or after. The preceding diet and clearing out of your system is temporary and nothing to worry about. Haward

Thanks very much for you reply it was very helpful.

If it were a straightforward colonoscopy, it should not be a worry. You can be awake throughout and it does not feel as intrusive as an endoscopy. But having the normal laxative to empty your system beforehand can be an issue if it is likely to upset your 'little and often' routine because your digestive system is likely to be far less robust than normal, and this may also be a problem for the scan you mention.

I know of one case where this was quite a big issue and the person discussed it with the staff beforehand so that she did not have to go through the laxative route. I am not sure what the solution was (it might have been an enema immediately beforehand, for instance) but the staff were quite amenable to finding a way round the difficulty. The advantage of the colon is that if there are polyps, they are readily visible and can be dealt with very quickly.

I think that the fear is perfectly natural. It won't be the procedure so much as worrying about what they might find, perhaps?

I thnk they are looking for polyps. And if they find them they might

remove them on the spot. One nurse said to me it's the only way

they know for sure if there is a cancer. A colonoscopy and endoscopy

is easy to do. You fall asleep and then later awaken maybe feeling

a little bit discomfort. The time passes fast. It's the pathology report

which you worry about. Mine was Cancer. i don't know how to deal

with yet. All the sudden i am sick.

Oh I am so very sorry to hear of your diagnosis, do you know yet what stage the Cancer is at or what treatment they can help you with ? I do hope you have someone to support you.

T3.

No i don't have anyone to support me. I grew up in a wierd family.

Stolen from my English parents. I was set up with a group on Long

Island NY USA who shared DNA vaccinations and then rotated.

There was a consistency and integretity for the family. But years

later when i saw these people were no longer those groups i no

longer had a family. And these people are all wierd. Today i am

being harassed sick like this by people from Minneapolis MN. I

don't know how more effectively i could say Go to Hell.
