Hi Gerard
Yes I can.i am now 8 years post op and I suffered badly with fatigue still do to some affect.
I was diagnosed with reactive hypoglycaemia you,ll best do looking that one up rather than have me explain.
Also because you have had your digestive system reorganised you will find your system does not absorb or manufacture vitamins that it requires namely:-
Vit B12
Vit D
I have been subscribed both of these medically as they make you very tired (lack of)
You may also need a blood test for your blood sugars as they may be awry.
If this succeeds let us know,
Good luck it all comes together after awhile with a little knowledge.
Hello
Adding to the first reply, you can add to that list of the possibly mal-absorbed: iron. I have been slightly anaemic pretty well all along since the op and that alone can make you tired.
John
Sorry to hear about that. I think the first thing might be to check whether you are anaemic. If you have lost part / all of your stomach, it affects your ability to absorb vitamins and minerals, especially iron and B12, so it would be worth getting these levels checked. Sometimes the supplements have to be given differently (even intra-venously in some cases) because of malabsorption.
Do you sleep all right at night? If this is difficult it might be worth trying to improve your sleeping pattern perhaps?
Hope this helps.
Hi Alan thanks for that.. I sleep well so I will take your advice and have my levels checked. I should take B12
