Hi guys.. we all live some situations where the anxiety is so high that "making room" for it is almost impossible. Could you guys share your best practices when the anxiety/fear is so over the roof that you cannot focus on anything or sleep anymore? Thanks!!!

Hi, what works best for me varies. Try to listen to or watch somebody calming online - Mark Bajerski is good - also you can download his meditation music. Read some Eckhart Tolle, being present whatever your anxious about is very important. A hot wheatbag compress on my neck and shoulders helps: often fall asleep fairly soon after applying it. Whatever you do try to stay out of the thoughts pressing in on you if your having trouble switching off the thinking focus on your breathing - also see Eckhart Tolle. Hope this helps.

Have you tried watching ASMR videos on YouTube? I know it's not for everyone but I find watching these really helps calm me down. Sometimes, just listening to someone rambling about something very banal in a very calming voice is just what you need to get your breathing under control and just help you chill. I know it sounds weird but it really worked for me when I developed sudden-onset anxiety with OCD symptoms a few years ago. Now I regularly watch these videos to wind down at the end of a busy day. Find an ASMR artist you like (there are thousands!) and give it a go! Good luck :)
