Do you have osteoarthritis of your feet?

I`ve definitely got it in my big toe on the same foot, the tendon has been overworked apparently (years of walking everywhere) and doesn`t work like it should. I was just wondering if anybody on here had the same problem and whether it can be resolved without the need for an operation. Have got an appt with the foot and ankle clinic in December.

Yes, I have Psoriatic Arthritis that attacks my tendons that attach to some of my bones.....my feet, calves, knees and hips are affected. I use to walk 10 miles a day and before walking use to run.

Have you tried physical therapy for your feet or orthotics?

I came across this post have a look at it some poster named legobear talks about big toe surgery....here is the post title How long have you been in pain with OA?

That specific tendonitis is PTTD and there are different outcomes depending on the stage you are at. I’m at stage two which means I can’t stand on the affected foot and raise my heel. I have had some success with orthodics and KT tape. I also use a cam walker boot when it’s very bad. Are you being followed by a podiatrist?

Hi Nitrobunny thanks for your reply, no I am not being followed by a podiatrist at the moment, some years ago I had orthotics but my foot has changed since then, I have an appt at foot and ankle clinic in December as I said so hopefully they will come up with something to keep me going without the need for an op. I don`t know what stage mine is but my foot can feel unstable standing on my toes but thankfully at least I can still do that, just. I have just taken up Nordic walking and its unbelievable how much further I can walk than before without as much pain, I haven`t a car so I have to walk everywhere but it was getting to be so difficult before I discovered Nordic walking...
