After severe facial bone loss due to a severe reaction to a cosmetic substance which has been confirmed by an endocrinologist specialising in bone disorders; I have been advised by a cosmetic surgeon that osteotomy (BASSO and Lefort) will be the only way to repair the damage.
Apparently it is very rare for this surgery to be performed privately in the UK. As well as the obvious cosmetic defects which have caused me severe depression as my face looks terrible now, the lack of lower jaw support has made my head feel very unstable and given me much pain and difficulty but given the expense of the procedure I can't see the NHS agreeing to it.
Does anyone know anything about this or where/if they offer it privately in the UK?

Good morning Sarah030609...I am very sorry you are having to go through this horrendous experience. I do not know anything about osteotomy to repair damage to the face. Have you asked the Endocrinologist for a referral? Especially one that the insurance company will reimburse. I know this has been a traumatic ordeal you have had to deal with. Are you speaking with a counselor to help you through this? If not, I do recommend you speak with one. If you do not feel comfortable, I suggest you speak with a good friend/family member or pastor, someone you feel comfortable with in sharing your feelings.
When I am feeling low, I find comfort in prayers and meditation. How do you battle the signs of depression?
