So much of our esteem / wellbeing / happiness levels can be attributed to how we feel about ourselves.
If we have a mindset caught up in dieting, we can often keep our acceptance and satisfaction levels depressed; in other words believing our happiness relies on us changing weight, getting fitter, getting healthier.
Some of us can be so many years (decades) into our low esteem that we've completely un-learnt how to be happy with how we are right now.
The truth for many is, that once they truly stop hating on themselves, accept and then love how they show up in the world - self care can naturally follow.
Taking care of ourselves from a place of self love rather than loathing, shame and guilt.
It sounds obvious when we read that out loud.
This is why we've set up (not for profit) nutriri.org to challenge current thinking around 'changing to become happy'.
Our (non-clinical) service coaches mindful, conscious, intuitive eating and body acceptance to reduce and end body stigma and disordered eating.
