i never asked the rheumatologist how long ill be taking the meds. Will i be on some form or DMRAD forever? Not worried about it if i am, already take thyroxine and insulin so another one wont make much difference
Are the meds forever?: i never asked the rheumatologist... - NRAS
Are the meds forever?
Sadly yes you will. Some will change during your lifetime, but yes you will be on them forever.xxx
Thanks sylvi, i thought that might be the case, but wasnt 100% sure. As long as they work ill take em! Gotta be better than this lousy pain and fatigue! Hope you are well
Yes, as Sylvie says you'll be taking them indefinitely. Hoever, if your RA improves on some specific medication you might be able to reduce or even stop some of the others you're taking! All the best & take care xxx
Well from what I know RA is forever but you can go into a drug induced remission or in the some cases the RA can " burn itself out " but it really depends! Sometimes it's for long periods, other times it comes back quickly. If you are lucky enough to get a remission the docs will sometimes give you a trial off or reduced drugs.
But for the moment you ill need them and it often takes bout three months or more for the mtx to help. If hy don't they will try another one . So this is what I was told, but ye you are stuck with the RA though, hugs and keep asking questions xxxx
