Hi Eduk8 - I don't know much about the drugs for RA let alone the ones used for PA although I do know they overlap a lot so maybe you'll get a big response to this question here. But if not I suggest that you go to the Arthritis Care forum - Living With Arthritis. There are many more people on there with Psoriatic Arthritis who really know their stuff about this particular type of inflammatory arthritis. Last time I looked there was a whole thread about this particular drug. Tilda Tx

Thank you very much for that web site. I will check there. :)

Eduk8: I have had Psoriatic Arthritis for over 30 years. When I began Methotrexate, the lesions slowly faded away. Rarely now, I might have a little one pop up on my elbow, or my leg. My doc gave me a Rx for a steroid cream to use on the spots. Other than that, it has been 30 years since I have had the awful lesions.

But the Psoriatic Arthritis is nasty! It affected my spine first, have had 8 spine surgeries, with fusions. Then my feet flared up about 15 years ago, absolutely could not stand on them. Could not return to my hospital laboratory work, so had to go on disability

Now, in the last 6-8 years, most of the arthritis is in my wrists and fingers. That's the worse because I have to use them!

I have had Humira, Enbrel and now Simponi. My Rheumatologist feels it is doing well.

I'm not sure because my hands are still a problem. But I do have more energy, endurance, so able to function pretty well, and do what I want. I'm just slow.

I have been on Simponi for about 9 months, so Rheumy says give it more time.

I hope your daughter gets good results. It works slow, so don't look for miracles right away! It does not seem to cause any sick feelings, like MTX used to. The injection kit is very easy to do, it is already measured out, you just choose a spot and click it. I use the tops of my thighs.

If you have any other questions, please do ask. Loret in USA

Thank you for sharing. Good luck to you on the injections. I want my daughter to have somewhat of a normal life. Her feet hurt often and her back too. We are also hoping that this helps with her alopecia (major hair loss) too. She also has fibro, so it's hard to tell what is hurting on some days.

She will have her first injection this Tuesday. Thanks for telling us about the slow response time too. That will be helpful.

Thanks again, BSO
