hello, this is a site for people with rheumatoid arthritis, so I can't tell you much about cirrhosis I'm afraid. But PV for us is plasma viscosity, which is just another blood test that identifies whether you have some inflammation. Basically it just tells doctors that there's something going on in your body, but not precisely what is causing it. But I don't know if there's another use of the abbreviation that means something different. Polly

Hi there are other tests for other diseases which relate to blood cells being to high or too low but if I were you I would contact the Liver specialist nurses and ask them what this test means for you condition and give you a lot more advice. It seems like they havent really explained the tests in laymans terms so I would just ask them to tell you it in "our" language. Good luck and hope you feel better very soon. Love Axx

Hi Pen7lvania

As the others have said, not sure if you also have RA, but this is an RA forum, so if not, not sure that we can help. However, in terms of blood tests I am aware of a good website that may be of interest:

labtestsonline.org.uk/

Kind regards
