Has anyone had a bad reaction to Humira where they have a horrible red and incredibly itchy rash. If so what action was taken?.

Hi yes I came out in a red, itchy rash all over my legs when on Humira. I was taken off Humira and arrangements made for me to have Enbrel instead. Not had a problem since. LavendarLady

The first thing to say is you must get in touch with the clinic straight away, but I assume you knew that. I did have a rash after the first couple of injections, I saw the consultant and he gave me an antihistamine and told me to get in touch with them if it got worse; he kept me on Humira (it's the only thing that's been effective for me so far). The rash has settled a bit, and I've taken the 3rd injection since.

Thanks for the swift replies peeps I am awaiting an appointment next week currently on antihistamines and using e45 cream. Really worried that they will take me off Humira as it is so effective my gp thinks it is my body rejecting Humira but the rheumy sister is not sure.

Hi, Yes I came out in severe 'hives' and also had sinusitis. I changed from 2 weekly to 3 weekly injections and all clear now. The Humira is so effective for me that I really want to stay

with it. Good Luck.

Thanks for that was at a+e and eventually was seen by a dermatologist who was so helpful. Today they took a skin biopsy to determine whether it was Humira reaction that will take four weeks to show results, and like you Humira has been so effective for me that it worries me that I might have to stop taking it. Until then I have steriod cream for the rash and will see rheumatologist next week.

It's great to hear about other Humira success stories, I wonder how

many of us there are out there? I hope you keep us updated with biopsy

results and your general progress.

Quick update seen rheumy and they believe that Humira is the cause and I will have to change my meds. So far I don't have much pain even though been off all drugs for four weeks now but I am stiff and I know a flare is in the post. They have told me to take mtx so more good news just hope my liver holds out this time. So I won't get a new biological for a few months and will have to tough it out, let the fun begin. No doubt I will be back on for another moan soon be well peeps later.

Not good news, I was hoping Humira was the answer for you. I thought they might have

tried a longer gap between injections before taking you off it completely. Hope the mtx goes

well, keep in touch.
