Initial xrays have shown thickening of lining of lungs and enlarged heart. Anyone else had this problem?? Did it resolve or did you have long term problems after???

Hi Lulu,
I developed lung complications of my RA 2 years ago - initially they weren't sure if it was the medication or the RA causing my extreme breathlessness. I had a biopsy amongst other tests and after months of high dose steroids and some new meds it's under control and has been manageable for the past year. I have rheumatoid nodules in my lungs and increased scarring.
Try not to worry too much about this - there's always a solution, it just takes time to find the right solution for you:-

Hi Lulu.
I can't help on this one either, I can only repeat what the others have also said about nodules on the lungs etc and that I'm sure you will get treated with the right medication soon.
Good luck in your treatment and please keep us informed.
take care

Hi Lulu,
I have a bit of scarring on my left lung, but docs don't seem concerned about it.
Probably not RA related. Am sorry you have this additional worry, but at least you know now and am sure they will find the right treatment.
Hope you are feeling better soon. Stay in touch.
Gina.
Thanks all.. I am hoping that it's drug induced and not the RA itself. It will be frustrating to have to start all over again though. A year on and still the RA is active and not one regime has worked. Thanks for the comments xxx
