Could it be carpal tunnel syndrome I wonder? My understanding is that this happens sometimes when inflammation in the wrists causes narrowing of the carpal tunnel and pushes on the nerves causing pins and needles. If I were you I would ask the GP or rheumatology nurse. They may well send you for nerve conduction tests to see if they can find out what's going on.

I get this a lot also in my toes mine happens at night. and my hands also go numb too.

I've had problems the last few days with pins and needles in 2 of my fingers in my left hand, had this before but never looked into it. So would be really interested in your findings. I have Rhuematology appointment on the 12th will ask about it then.

If you see your GP which I have found easier, the GP can get you to do a simple test without any instruments which can confirm if it's carpal tunnel. If it is it can be taken from there by your rheumy consultant who can refer you to a hand specialist for carpal tunnel release surgery. My rheumy consultant used a machine to measure nerve response (I believe that was what it was measuring). I found often just moving my hands into a different position helped, especially during the night also putting my wrists under a cold running tap was another one which must have taken away some of the swelling and pressure on the carpal tunnel. I had bi lateral carpal tunnel release surgery and it worked for me.

Hi guys. Thanks for the feedback. I went to mu gp yesterday. She thinks it could be ulnar nerve compression and put me on inflamation medication for 5days whereafter I need to go see a surgeon.
