And not a word about RA..... !! :-)

I'm really not someone who brags. If people think I am bragging, it's a mistake. I have been really pampered over the last couple of days. All in a good cause because ..... well it's my Birthday today!!! Yes I have reached the dizzy heights of a 55 year old..... I am well into Saga country and am heading for the OAP decade - although who can afford to retire? I never used to think when I was 19 that I would ever be old. That belonged to my parents God Rest them...

Any way... my first pressie was from my beautiful daughter, she had booked a manicure for me and had arranged lunch in Barnstaple. Bit of girlie time and shopping and stuff, then home to chillax.

However, Rastas the boyfriend had other ideas!! On a drunken and debauched night out on Saturday (which I must say they do not do very often)

he managed to damage his hand. I looked at Sunday night and said ah put some ice on it, take some Ibruprofen and get some decent sleep. So off he toddled to work on Monday moring - he was sent home because he couldn't use his hand properly (he makes cheese). So he went back yesterday which was supposed to be day off but he was told to go in to make up his hours and do light duties. He came home last night, in agony. Dad told him to go to A & E because hand was swollen again. Daughter got call around 7 and was asked if she could take Dad to hospital because he was in a plaster cast and couldn't drive home!

Result - he has to go back this afternoon to get the specialist to look at it, even though they have put him in a plaster cast up to his elbow! So I spent the morning at the manicurist, then had a scrummy lunch - alone. My daughter had to help him shower and stuff this morning - it's his right hand and he is so cacky handed with the other! So lunch together was out of the question.

Unfortunately, because Mr Silageman had thought I was taken care of for the day he made plans to trone up and bale and wrap a field of silage before the weekend rain. So here I am on me tod with my newly painted and honed nails, twiddling my newly painted thumbs, wondering what to do with myself.

We are off out to night. It's dinner at my favourite Chinese restaurant, so I think I might go and have a little snooze beforehand, so that I don't fall asleept into me chicken and sweetcorn soup!

Eee I tell you - life is grand!

Take care all

Julie xx

P.S. I am having an awful time resisting the temptation of 2 (Yes blooming 2) boxes of the most yummiest chocolates I have seen for a long time... :-(

And I say eat the chocs eat the chocs too x

Thank you all so much. I do appreciate your good wishes. It was in fact a lovely meal, lovely evening, the bestest I have had for a while. Ended up at Westward Ho! where the sun sets really late over the sea and it was beautiful. Nails look good too. It think the calcium and magneseum tablets I take every day have made them so strong as they used to break really easily. :-) They are caramel coloured! Sounds a bit yucky but looks nice!

Thanks you guys xxxxx

Julie my little Chicken Chaser, but not with those nails lol

I'm sorry i missed your birthday, I've been a bit preoccupied with the trip to Oxford and the results.

I'm also sorry to hear about your daughters young man, making cheese is an important business. You can buy a plastic sleeve to go over plaster casts from Boots but tha might stop your daughters fun.

The idea of sitting and watching the sun go down is wonderful one of my favourite pass times all over the world, but never at Westward Ho.

Enjoy the chocs and keep well, and don't forget to PACE yourself.

with love
