Have been injecting MTX for 12 months now and have always done it into my thighs. Noticed recently there was a discussion about where to inject and many advised stomach was best. Will give this a go this week but I think I just need reassurance that others do it there with no problems. Any advice/comments most welcome. Many thanks x

Injecting into stomach ?
Hi there, I inject into my midriff having tried the front of the thighs - too painful. Done my injection this morning and alternate the sides I do it in and the area. tomorrow is anti tnf day and that has to be injected into the stomach - don't ask me why I haven't a clue! But again alternate sides are used. not had any problems but occasionally a bruise if the injection has gone under the skin rather than that bit deeper but it soon goes. Have a go and good luck. Currently alternate legs but I am finding that my right thigh has developed an "ache" and I think it is the injections. Many thanks for your advice, injection day tomorrow so will give it a go.
Why has anto tnf have to be injected into stomach, I alternate thighs n tum with my Humira? Or does that just suit you LL?
I always injected into my stomach as it was easier and had no after effects in terms of pain/bruising. This was how I shown how to do it by the rheumy nurse.
Cece.
Yep me too, in the stomach, always found the thigh to painful. Like Cece said cuts down on the bruising too, pinch of the flesh on the stomach and a quick sharp jab!does it every time for me.
Good luck.
Mandy xx
Thanks everyone for the reassurance. Will jab away with confidence tomorrow night
I always inject my mthx into my stomach, Ive been told to aviod the areas around the belly button by two inches all around it but anywere else "I was told were safe"
I inject my Enbrel into my thighs I alternate the sides of the belly and thigh that I inject into weekly.
Thanks again everyone x
No problem with a quick sharp jab in the flabby tum tum !! especialy if you have had a caesarian before like me and its abit numb any way. Dont feel a thing! Oh dear LOL !
Hi Sparkle - yep got both of them C-section and flabby tum !
tummy is best!! Nurses inject my thigh and I have permanent brusing as a consequence but no sign (after a couple of weeks) from injecting tummy. It seems to hurt less too xx
I was told to alternate thighs and tum by nurse, with my anti-tnf but always bruise my thighs so will stick to tum only from now on following all your advice. Tum never hurts or bruises.

Jabbed away happily (if you can inject happily ?) and uneventfully into my tummy last night, no problems. Thanks everyone
Does anyone else find injecting into the tummy is difficult because of the size of their chest? Or is it just me! So I do it in my thighs, and it can be quite painful. I have to assemble a syringe first. I wish I could have a medipen.
Also, when my hands are being awkward, I am amazed I achieve anything! But recently I have persuaded my O.H. to do it for me occasionally. Bless him!!
Hi, I inject Enbrel weekly and have done so for 5 years I was advised to rotate around four sites: right stomach, left stomach, right leg, left leg and I have stuck to it rigidly and have never had a problem.
Good luck
