I was on Diclofenac for about 20 yr before being changed to Naproxen about 4 yr ago because of my risk of M.I, I do however now have heart failure. I'd suggest if your heart problems are getting worse you talk to your doctor or cardiologist, they're the only people who can answer this question.

I was on diclofenac but they gave me side effects like a tummy bug and a tight feeling in my chest so GP stopped them.I was given Tramadol and after3 weeks i didnt get the side effects from diclofenac but got sent for blood tests and other tests found out i only had 1 kidney so had to stop all antiflamotory meds i was on dont look at the spelling its not so good, but long term like 20yrs your body is used to them but the side effects didnt start untill i had been on Diclofenac about 3 months

hi again Thomas, it's actually long term use that CAN cause heart problems, so I now wonder if it's Diclo that's caused my heart failure.

My health authority does not favour it as it carries a higher cardiovascular risk than some of the other NSAIDS.I t is hard to quantify in your case as you had a MI prior to its use in your case it could be due to a pre existing condition. see advice from your local health professional

I left a message about diclo and going back over my med history later diclo can cause heart problems i had swollen calfs very sore and red and my heart rate was high and fast about 160high it stayed high i saw a cardio found out after ECG and other tests he saw my script meds went through them and i was on diclo then and a few other meds he said it was meds that was the problem he stopped diclo when i saw him again after he had results of a heart scan heart rate back to normal good news then he said we found a leaky heart valve but it is moderate and i have a scan every 2 yrs to see if it got worse at the moment its stable i asked him if it was the diclo that caused it he said he didnt know but at least the fast heart rate didnt come back,ITS worth seeing if it is diclo or any other meds you are hope you check it out
