Having inflammatory arthritis can be hard, add to this the ‘joys’ of raising children and the challenges can begin to pile up. As a parent with IA, it can get frustrating, and you aren’t alone if you feel this way. We’d love to have you join our Parenting with IA meeting, a safe space for you to laugh, cry and meet others who are in a similar situation.
Our next meeting is scheduled to take place over zoom on 10th July 2024 at 8.00 pm. You can register for the event in advance by clicking on the link below.
My daughter has RA since 17 and is now ready to have a baby but being on enbrel and methotrexate scares her how to continue working and coming off of meds to get pregnant. She is now 32 yrs old and so wants a baby! Rheumys are far too busy to give a lot of time to her, but any advice from NRAS and the lovely forum of patients would help please.
Get her to call the helpline if she can’t get help from her rheumy although I’d be contacting PALS if she’s getting no reply from her rheumy. Has she not spoken To them at all since deciding to get pregnant? If it’s any consolation when I became pregnant my RA improved even without meds so I hope it does the same for her.
Thanks so much, there's hope at least! Did you get pregnant whilst on meds? This is what she is worried about, staying clear of meds for 3 months and then planning pregnancy.
