Hi, I've finally got my first rheumatologist appointment in 2 weeks after this suspected RA struck me from nowhere. I have some questions lined up, but wondering if there is anything you wished you'd asked with hindsight on your first visit?
What would you ask?: Hi, I've finally got my first... - NRAS
What would you ask?
Hi there - all the best for your first rheumatology appointment. We have a useful video on the NRAS YouTube channel presented by a nurse specialist on how to get the most out of your first appointment, you can find it here: youtube.com/watch?v=sqvinVl...
Also please do feel free to give our friendly NRAS Helpline team a call, or email, and they will be able to offer some guidance and tips. Free-phone 0800 298 7650 (Mon-Fri 9:30am-4:30pm) or email any time to helpline@nras.org.uk.
Hope this helps!
be sure to take pen and paper.
I found it really helpful to have a friend with me. There can be a lot to remember!
I forgot to ask some things at my appt and some questions I thought about a few hours later as well! I was able to contact the dept by e.all and a nurse answered them. Maybe ask if you could do the same? Sometimes we need time for the appt details to sink in
I wish that when the nurse mentioned in passing that my vitamin D was a bit low I'd said what do you mean by that? Do I need to take supplements?
