Methortrexate

I started taking Benepali injections 8 weeks ago. I am wondering should I take my dose of 10 tablets of methotrexate on the same day. It has fallen that way since my training nurse came on the same day as I have always taken the tablets. Any advice will be welcomed. Thanks

I was advised to keep 48hrs between my benepali and MTX. I do take 25mg MTX though, which may be why.

I have found the pharmacist at the company that delivers my injections, in my case Sciencus really helpful

Thanks I will definitely be changing my jab day. I take 25mg of MTX too.

I was told by my specialist nurse not to take them both on the same day, she said if you do your immune system gets a double whammy. Monday is my mtx day and Friday is enbrel. Plus if you do have any side affects and you do both the same day they won't know which I one caused it.

Thankyou for that. You're right about the double whammy. Especially for the side effects. I have been having tummy trouble for two days each week after the jab. Hopefully spacing it out will sort this .

This is something only the pharmacist or rheumatology can give you a definitive answer for. We all react very differently to our meds. Please ask the people who know. All the best.

I am on the same meds as you. I was advised to split them, I take the Benepali on a Saturday, and MTX on Tuesday (folic acid on Monday.
