Hi all,
like many of you the old inflammatory arthritis affects certain joints. I’m somewhat lucky in the regard I only have two affected joints - left elbow and right knee. However they are troublesome.
in regards to my right knee, I’ve always had a build up of fluid making the knee warm, unable to fully bend but not by much, and some slight pain after long walks and runs. I’m fortunate in that I can regularly run 5k without it playing up.
I’ve had a few aspirations but my last one in November was met with a block! The fluid has unfortunately become jelly like and unable to remove as normal. I have an ultrasound guided injection to check this fully and the general health of the knee joint in a few weeks. Maybe this will help further?
my question is has anyone had to deal with congealed fluid like jelly on the knee and had subsequent surgery to remove it. was the ultrasound injection helpful?
Was the surgery okay? How long before you were up and walking again? And the biggest question of all - how long until the fluid returned?
thanks!!
