Happy New Year to all RA warriors. Onwards & upwards for 2023🙏 My daughter with MCTD was offered Ocreluzimab following a near anaphylactic reaction to the 2nd dose of the 2nd cycle of Rituximab in April 2021She had the 1st 2 primary infusion of Ocreluzimab in March 2022 with no ill effects & seemed to help with her joint pains & improved mobility.
Joint pain was getting troublesome again so on 23rd Dec she started on her 2nd cycle of Ocreluzimab. 1st infusion was relatively uneventful. However when she attended for her 2nd dose on 6th Jan, her CRP & liver enzymes were elevated so the Dr decided not to proceed with the infusion and she's due for repeat bloods this Friday 13th Jan. Trying to contact Rheumatology Nurse as to what's next after bloods?
My question is:
1. Have anyone had Ocreluzimab for RA.? I understand this drug is licensed & used for treating MS patients.
2. I am wondering the wisdom of my daughter continuing with this potent drug.. as potentially could be a side effect?... with the manifested abnormal bloods
3. She has a rheumy appt on 3rd March and I am thinking perhaps sit tight for now and review the situation then. Meanwhile praying that she will at least get a good response to the infusion she had on 23rd Dec. 2022
Sorry for this long post and hope not too confusing. Thank you in advance for your responses.
