I've just been laid low with burning pain in nearly all my joints, fatigue but also stomach pain which I've never had before. I was wondering if anyone else has had upset stomach with a flare before.

Flare or something else?
Thanks Ajay'Seems to have settled now but getting 3 monthly blood test soon followed by docs app so
I'll mention it then.
Thanks again
Thank you 😊
I often get mouth and gut issues when I'm flaring, but it might be best to contact your GP. I'm convinced beyond doubt that my gut and RA are connected.
Thanks for that, it makes sense I'll definitely mention it to the doctor. Thank you for your help
I have a diagnosis of Stills Disease which manifests as RA. Your comment interested me as I also note intense sore throat and stomach gripes when joint pain flares. In fact all complaints which I’m sure are AI and linked to Stills flare at the same time even gyne things like LS and IC so there is a connection without doubt.
I’m also convinced gut and RA are connected. I put myself on a gluten free and dairy free diet when I had to stop Methotrexate because of bad stomach side effects. It was only just recently when I slowly put myself back on a normal diet that RA pain started again badly. All the months I was on a gluten free diet I didn’t have any RA symptoms. I’m seeing my consultant later this month and was wondering if I should mention it , bearing in mind she is the one wanting to discharge me .
I was tested for celiac disease (negative) and used a gluten free diet for several months a few years ago. It made no difference to my RA or gut, I eat gluten again.Sugar does however ulcerate my mouth, it's quite uncanny, if I even take a bite of something very sweet, tiny ulcers appear on my tongue within seconds and the mucosal lining of my mouth becomes red and sore within a few minutes.
None of this happened pre taking MTX. MTX and I didn't get along very well.
Strangely, my best friend bought me a packet of mini eggs (because I told her I’d never tasted one!) and 2 boxes of caramel magnums . I couldn’t not eat them could I? My stomach isn’t too good this morning!! I do believe Methotrexate has left me with a dodgy stomach but it also seems strange that I lasted a good 8 months off Methotrexate and no pain anywhere until I went back (very slowly) to a normal diet. I’m told Methotrexate can take 3 to 6 months to get out of your system.
I'm several years off MTX and still seem to have the mouth ulceration problems. It isn't such a big problem really, I was told about 'Heavenly' chocolate on this forum, dairy and sugar free and actually quite nice! Available on line expensive, but I dont eat a lot of it.
Do a covid test, that is how I felt just before testing positive.
