Morning everyone, I was talking to my missus last night and wondered if any of us who are immunosuppressed could also be asymptomatic for covid? Had anyone heard or been personally?

Thank you 😊

I don’t know anyone….but if they were asymptomatic…they wouldn’t know if they’d had Covid unless they have been testing regularly would they? Most of my friends don’t do the tests unless they go to somewhere unusual.

I’m just about to do the CV19 antibody self-sample test…. .don’t know why I received it……it arrived in the same post as the LF tests I eventually managed to get.

Yes! Last August, I was pinged by the app as my phone had been in close contact with a positive case. No symptoms at all.I was on holiday in Devon . I isolated in the hotel room, did a lft which was negative and booked a pcr nearby. That evening the result of the pcr came back positive. Did another lft - still negative. Had to cut short holiday of course and we drove home. Lots of calls from Test and Trace and isolated at home for 10 days. Had no symptoms at all and never got a positive lft. Apparently 1 in 3 people who test positive are asymptomatic so there are a lot of us about- including my daughter in law who had the same experience.

How annoying that must have been!

Yes - annoying is definitely the word although I was of course grateful not to have symptoms.

Was that after vaccines? It does amaze me the range of experiences.

Meanwhile, I was quite unwell last week, very similar symptoms, onset and progression as when I had Covid (but quite a bit milder). I couldn't think what else it could be. But PCR was negative. 🤷‍♀️

Hi Dave. I tested positive in November after my booster and was asymptomatic so it is possible.

As a teacher I test twice weekly and haven’t had a positive lateral flow test at all. In September I did an antibody test for the Zoe symptom study. I was very surprised when the result came back as positive for covid antibodies due to vaccination and infection. Apparently I had had covid in the previous three months but knew nothing about it. I’m on methotrexate, meloxicam and tocilizumab.

Someone I know on methotrexate for chrons got COVID recently and had no symptoms, they only found out because they are a nurse and test regularly for work

Yes - a friend of mine who has RA and is on Methotrexate tested positive without any symptoms at all. She only tested herself as her son was positive, so found out that way. 🤷‍♀️ This was during the first wave as well, before the vaccinations.
