Yes, so did I, The Little Drummer Boy - fantastic wasn't it, two greats singing together like that and doing such a lovely song. It'll probably be played for many years to come (I hope!).
Reply (2)Report
I hope so. One of my favourite Christmas records.Their voices work so well together .
Reply (3)Report
I agree, two great talents of different eras with many years in between them, sounding so good - did they ever do an album together do you know?
Reply (1)Report
I don't think so - well not that I've heard anyway. Just watched the video on you tube ππ€©

Just found out the correct title is Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy. I don't think Bowie wanted to do LDB and I think this was a kind of compromise??
Reply (1)Report
Ah. It worked out very well though.

Yes, but you never know, what you read isn't always accurate I suppose.

Early Christmas treat for you m.youtube.com/watch?v=gE9XV... (Not working as expected?) Recorded at Elstree 11/9/77. The full Crosby/Bowie sketch from 10:10, song from 11:57. Enjoy π

Thank you for this. Two incredible performers who changed popular music and culture in their lifetimes π
Reply (2)Report
You're welcome. Yes, I agree. It was filmed at Elstree because Bing was touring the UK at the time. It was last TV appearance as well, he died a little over a month later at Alcobendas, Spain. He was where he'd have probably wanted to be, about to enter the clubhouse having finished a round of golf that he & his partner won by one stroke.
