Anyone experience breathlessness while on Methotrexate

Yes I did for several days while my own doctor did blood tests. I took myself off it straight away. Had to have treatment I advise reporting to your team.

Do report it to your team. I had/have breathlessness and was tested thoroughly. Turned out not to be related to MTX, but a heart valve and ischaemia problem but still best to get it checked.

My wife suffers from a bad cough but nothing else. A sister in law thinks it effects her vision. I'm dur to go on it in the next few weeks for the third time. First time no effect, but no side effects. Second time still no effect but this time I did suffer from several side effects mainly stomach aches.

Yes I did. A few days after taking each dose of MTX I would become really out of breath to the point where I was struggling to hold conversations. The breathlessness would last a couple of days.

My rheumatology nurse told me not to worry about it - but this seems at odds which what everyone else is saying online! Ultimately the side effects were too bad so I stopped MTX. Will mention it to my rheumatologist when I next have a chance.

I have been trying to get hold of the rheumy nurse but without success so far. Will try again Monday

Hi, I have been on max for over ten years and can say I have never experienced breathlessness at all.
