Painful knees

Help please I am in so much pain with my knees 😪😪 hardly slept at all last Nite and solo painful today and I don't c rheumatologist to next Wednesday 😪😪

Have you been told to take any painkillers? I was advised to take ibuprofen, then paracetamol a couple of hours later - stick to the recommended doses per day. Hope this helps x

Good evening Maggie69 and I'm very sorry you're in so much pain 😔 Unfortunately, I can't give you more/other advice as I was told the same, i.e. Ibuprofen + paracetamol. I am glad you have an appointment next week and I hope very much that the time will pass quickly and that the painkillers give you some relief in the meantime.

A friend who struggles with her knees takes cocodamol. You can get it over the counter and take with ibuprofen. It contains paracetamol so don’t take it with paracetamol. It can constipate too so take necessary precautions. X

Hi Maggie69,So sorry to hear you’re in such pain. Knee pain is so tough to deal with especially at night!

As well as pain meds, the physio I saw when I was first diagnosed with RA recommended supporting under my knees at night with a soft rolled towel or rolled small pillow so that they were slightly bent. This really helped to reduce both the pain and stiffness.

I’m the same Take the pain relief as everyone says I bought a wee pillow for between my knees and it helps for a wee while Hope you get relief x
