Bruising at site of Metoject injection.

Morning Peeps 🙂

I seem to have red bruising under my skin on the top of my right leg - the thigh area. Last time I did my Metoject injection there was 9 days ago - I alternate legs so it was the right side this Monday. It is an area of about 6" x 10" and isn't painful to touch. Any ideas? I don't feel unwell or any different than usual 🤷🏻‍♀️I was going to say no different to normal...but I've never been normal 🤪

Have that problem so always use my abdomen now - no problem.

Thanks. I've never had that problem before 🤔I inject my biologic in my abdomen though.

I always use my thighs (didn't fancy the stomach for some reason!) and haven't had this problem. I have managed to hit a thread vein on a couple of occasions and had some bleeding so now look a bit more closely and try to avoid them 🙄 Do you think that your bruise might be bleeding under the skin? 🤔

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have no idea what it is to be honest. My gp has advised that I call my clinical nurse, which I have. I can only leave a message though.

Every now and then I think I hit a vein sometimes a bruise and then not a mark for ages.🤷🏽‍♀️

I would take a photo as it may take a few days for them to reply to your message

I did take photos and sent them to my GP. She told me to call my rheumatologist. I actually got a call back from her today! I've just got to keep an eye on it.

I have always injected my MTX by grabbing a bit of my "spare tyre" while sitting down & never had an issue with bruising 🤗
