I've been taking 10mg of Amytriptalin since May this year. It's been great for controlling the nerve pain and helping me sleep. Since July/August I noticed I was struggling with watery eyes and felt I had to clean my glasses very regularly because thing were so blurred. I noticed a couple of weeks ago I was waking up with very, very swollen eyes and had pain in my eyeball. Long story short, I've stopped taking the Amytriptalin and things seem to be returning to normal.
It does seem that there is some evidence that eyes can be a problem when on Amytriptalin but not much info.
Have tried to get an appt with optician but nothing until Jan.

May I suggest contacting 111. Swollen eyes and pain in the eyeballs needs to be checked as soon as possible. I don't want to alarm you but, having recently been diagnosed with glaucoma, perhaps I'm a bit over cautious.
Might be worth trying a different optician - someone on here was desperate to be seen and her Specsavers managed to have her seen in a different branch. She was very pleased with how things went. I think some optician’s also keep appointments for emergencies. So it might be worth phoning round.
I haven’t had any eye problems due to amitryptyline but have had an urgent eye appointment through Specsavers as they do them for the NHS so no charge. As others have said I would check if you can get an appointment with another optician as you need to be checked out sooner rather than later. I hope you get seen soon and all is ok 🤞🏻
