My husband was diagnosed with eosinophilic fasciitis back in July, amongst other medication he is taking methotrexate and prednisone. He has the usual side effects but over the past week or so has developed a blotchy rash on the heels of his feet, it drives him crazy at night itching and feeling hot. Has anyone else had this? Looking for tips to stop the itching before he goes crazy!!

He really needs to contact his medical team - it doesn't sound normal!

We could only suggest 'first aid' methods, like keeping his feet cool, calamine, etc and he really needs to know why he has this and whether changes to his medication need to be made. He might need more prednisolone, for example.

I take antihistamines to stop my itchy feet. Hope this helps!

I didn't experience this but I no longer take prednisone nor methotrexate as I had so many side effects and my R A still flared badly.

I am now on a Jak inhibitor which for me is much much better.

Hope that he gets sorted.
