Ohh the pain today

Pain today man it’s been rough. My back is hurting and has drained me. I have failed yet another Med methotrexate so now my RA doc is keeping me on the orencia but adding imuran. I have also take. Orencia and imuran before. Orencia just quit working and I had to come off of imuran before due being sick and when I went back on it it wouldn’t work. But when it was working it was awesome. So I’m hoping that when it gets in my system this time it will be great. I need some relief. Sorry for the long post y’all. I guess I just needed to tell someone. My husband passed away four years ago and my kids are good to me but they don’t understand. My husband had RA as well. Anyway y’all stay safe. Hugs from a safe distance.

Peggy.

Hiya, I had the same thing. It's a shame theres not a sorta blood test that says , ooh mtx will help you or you need Enbrel!!! No we have to do trial and error but its worth it when you get " the one!"

Amen it sure is. Praying this imuran works like it did the first time I took it. I’m rounding back around as I have tried all of the meds so far. 😌

Peggy my darling it is so hard when your home alone, your children don't understand because they don't see you when your at your worst and i bet because you don't tell them(yes i am guilty of this one) My son rang last Saturday and couldn't understand why my breathing was laboured and i told him "but you don't see me when you call round because i am always sitting down doing nothing" Peggy my darling gentle hugs for you from me with oodles of love.xxxx

Yes it is hard to be home alone. And I am like you my breathing gets labored when I do much of anything. Especially if I try to tote anything. That’s the hard part. But after I rest a few minutes it levels off. I hope you are doing good. Hugs

Hi Peggy it’s very hard when the meds don’t work and as people have been saying it’s trial and error,I’m on my 4th Biological now toximilunumb along with methotrexate which I’ve been on since 2015 but now the methotrexate is affecting my liver readings so their weaning me off it slowly so I’m only taking the biological drug I’m down to 15 Nhs now from 20mgs with no problems so far so we’ll have to see how I go,I hope your feeling better soon and get the magic combination xxx

Hi Peggy, I am so sorry to hear of how much pain you are in. I know what you feel like as the pain I am in is really dreadful as well. I have extreme backache which is also causing the back of my legs from the knee up to be in awful pain. They feel like someone is twisting and burning them. I had an MRI scan before all this Cornona Virus trouble started and was told that I needed to see a spinal consultant urgently because my spine is out of alignment and I have several slipped discs and I got an appointment for the middle of May. However, it has now been postponed until goodness knows when and the pain seems to be getting worse every day and I can hardly even manage to walk around the house now.

I had a shoulder replacement last November and was supposed to be seeing the surgeon as a follow up tomorrow but of course that has also been postponed. I was supposed to be having some toe nails removed at the end of May but that is yet another thing that has been postponed. Still I think we have to be grateful that we are still here to tell the story. I am in isolation for 12 weeks and I expect you are as well.

I am sorry this has turned out to be mostly about myself, but I just wanted to say that I wish you well. I have come to realise that people don't understand what it is like to be us, unless they have been in the same situation or actually live with us and sometimes they don't understand even then.

Look after yourself, rest when you need to and just try to enjoy doing things like reading or watching TV and/or DVDs etc. Perhaps you have some crafts that you enjoy doing. Sometimes things like that can make you forget about the pain for a time. xxx

Thank you so much for your post. It helps when you know others have the same things going on because you know they get it. I hope you get better soon. We just try to get relief wherever we can. Hugs to you my friend and I hope soon we can all get our dr appts in.
