Mycophenolate

I’m due to start mycophenolate next week due to continuous side effects of the methotrexate injections. Would love to hear your experiences. Was also wondering whether potential side effects happen straight away or if after a few days as need to prepare myself regarding work.

Mish-da remember everyone is different, but I did not tolerate Mycophenolate Mofetil well. The side effects came quickly, it made me so cold and chilled, I coud not warm up and I had sharp pains in my feet.

However others do well with it, it might work well for you.

Thanks for your reply Mmrr yes I’m hoping I’ll be ok on it 🤞When you say quickly are we talking about a matter of hours or a number of days. I plan to take in next Thursday and at work Friday and need to be on the ball!! Lots of driving and assessing people.

Within a few hours I was chilled and cold and feeling generally unwell, I did not warm up for the 10 days I took it. The foot pains, a recognised side effect, started after a few days. I decided I not want to proceed with it and was changed to methotrexate.

Hi Mish-da, after being hospitalised while on Methotrexate and losing clumps of hair I was put on Mycophenolate and have taken it for 5 years without any problems at all.
