When the pain starts

When I’m sitting enjoying a cup of tea and I notice a familiar stiffness in my hand and then within half an hour it is excruciating and unmovable. I hate that feeling. Sound familiar, anyone?!

I remember once as I was going for a walk I could feel my hand tingle, then start to swell. And 20 minutes later by the time I got home it was swollen, bright red and throbbing fit to bust. Such fun RA, isn't it!

Yes, and always at the wrong time - eg walk to a restaurant for a meal, foot flare , unable to walk home......Im tempted to say it hasn’t happened recently so violently as it used to - but I’m touching wood -!

I’m sure people with me must think I’m neurotic. Its hard to believe it myself so I can’t blame them!

Yes, it’s what I hate the most, the unpredictability of RA.
