Just wondering what joints seem to be affected by psa? Also does affect one or both sides? Thanks in advance.
Affected joints.: Just wondering what joints seem to be... - NRAS
Affected joints.
I have PsA mainly affecting feet/ankles, wrists and fingers on both side of body with spinal issues. My right elbow is now showing signs of enthesitis.
Anywhere basically! Sorry to hear that you have it.
Best places to look for accurate (UK) information are the NRAS website and the arthritisresearch.org.uk website.
Hi, interested in the answers you get as I have just been “restratified” (who knew that was a thing) from RA to PsA. The factors my new Rheumy referred to were family history and the problem areas I have - neck, Achilles, and tendons rather than joints. I’m in a new area, previous Rheumy had this info but simply diagnosed RA bCk in 2012. I’m hoping for better treatment and more joined up care now, but it’s early days and nothing resolved yet. Hope things go well for you and we find out as much as poss! Good luck.
Ps. At the mo I have finger/hand, elbow, ankle/feet, and neck problems but, interestingly not symmetrical.
It seems to only affect my knees and ankles, and usually affects one or two joints at a time, and if it’s two, its typically one ankle and the opposite knee.
Having said that, I think I have in the past had both ankles flaring at the same time as it was at one point suggested as being ‘Palindromic Rheumatism’.
As Oldtimer says anywhere!
I have bilateral pain and swelling in knees, hips, shoulders, feet, ankles, hands, neck and spine. Plus tendinitis.
It's variable. Some folks may have it only causing issues with a couple of joints. I have very mild psoriasis (though really painful toenail psoriasis) and cracking arthritis.
Must really have pipped someone off in my lifetime!
