I was banned from having acupuncture due to the risk of introducing infection . I do have a metal implant in my head which is vulnerable to acting as a focus for infection.

Done. I REALLY LIKED acunture and found it relaxing . It really helped with my pain. Would much rather have that than a steroid into the knee!
