I have been lucky with an early diagnosis, only because my sister has RA and I recognised the symptoms, GP no good at all. I contracted RA at 65 and am now 68. My symptoms are fairly minor and don’t impact my lifestyle much. Is there anyone out there with a similar beginning, who has regressed badly. I’m obviously very worried about this. Cheers Saynso

If you get to your rheumy and they will give you drugs that will help your symptoms darling.xxxx
Sorry I forgot to mention am on 20mgs methotrexate, plaquinal and folic acid.
Do you have any reason to think you'll regress? You caught it early, went straight onto DMARDs, and say you have minor symptoms......so that's the best possible position for getting into remisssion and staying there. And also, as we age things do slow down, so the actual disease can slow down too. I would try to put this out of your mind, and concentrate on enjoying life.
Sounds good to me! You have every chance of continuing to keep it under control. But of course you are anxious about the future especially if you have seen what it can do to other people!
Thanks
Oh bless. To be honest, I don't think you can second guess how this nasty disease will behave. I reckon I'd just be very grateful for the mild effects it has and worry about things getting worse if they do. Hugs
