Hi Phoo, I took Humira for nearly six months and it didn't thin my hair. How long before you noticed the hair thinning? My hair has suffered in the past with shedding on high dose Mtx but Humira didn't do anything for my RA unfortunately. 😐

Aah crap! So sorry to hear it didn't work for u - what did you move onto and is it working ? My injections haven't been working for over a year . They switched me to cimzia which didn't work well enough . I am now 6 weeks into humira and it hasn't started working yet . This is terrifying - will it work? When will it work??? God it's hard !!!

It is hard indeed to wait and wonder if a med is going to work but as Humira can take up to 12 weeks to start working properly don't get disheartened. That would be three injections you've done? Fingers crossed you're going to start feeling better soon. That's a long time for you to be waiting for your main med to be working for you. I'm sorry Cimzia didn't work for you. 😕

I had a very disappointing time with Enbrel as it worked like a miracle after the first one too. After a couple of hours I could feel my hands had unseized and I walked up the bedroom stairs that night without any ouch almost like pre RA. The next morning I felt amazing like when I have a steroid shot in a joint and it makes the entire body feel good. After two days I felt like I'd gone back to pre RA and felt fantastic for another five weeks. Then I started to get a horrible reaction after the injections and a huge red risen itchy circle where I had done it. It lasted all week and only just faded when the next injection was due. I also stated to feel bad really quickly and seizing and the RA crept back in. Then my rheumy said she didn't want to delay another med, and was concerned about the reaction after injecting so I had a two week break then started Humira which sadly did nothing. I know many people who it works very well for so I felt sad about it not working for me but it was my choice which biologics I took. I was given the choice of Enbrel, Humira or Simponi. After failing two biologics I was allowed to have Rituximab infusions. I wish I could have gone straight to Rituximab and not had to take Enbrel and Humira but glad I'm on it now. It's the only thing for many years that has halted my often out of control RA and got my inflammation levels down to CRP <5 and my ESR under 10.

Rituximab took 8 weeks for me to feel the benefit after I had had my two infusions (two weeks apart.) It was confusing as I had a knee steroid injection not long after my Rituximab infusions and that's always confusing to know what is working! However I started to feel much better generally. I had such a feeling of well being I had not had for years after two months so that was definitely the Rituximab.
