I had problems with my ear feeling clogged up. Then my jaw was hurting really bad. Then my head and ear started hurting on right side only. It was very painful. Lasted around 4 months. It is better now, but still everyday is different. It will hurt a little then stop. I can finally eat some food. Before I had to eat only solid foods. I was losing weight. Went to ent. doc. said I had ra/tmj in the ear. Went to dentist said nothing was wrong with teeth.
My teeth hurt also. It has been H--- the last 4 months. Could not function when I first came down with it. I also excersie my head moving it around that seems to help. I stay busy that seems to help. I find that is the only thing that helps. Tried heating pads and cold packs.
Tried taking aleve. I guess I
will have this the rest of my life. Feel for anyone with this.

Yes it's part of ra. The dentist said the same to me. Couldn't find anything wrong. This was before I was diagnosed with ra. It is painful when I get it bad sometimes it niggles me then it goes for a while. Also get earache also. Hope you feel better soon.
Jaw pain can also be a sign of GCA. When I have a GCA flare coming on I have acute jaw pain on one side. Please investigate this with your rheumatologist to verify its not something different or nefarious.
No not grinding. The jaw feels better, It's the ear and back of head that is a problem. Hurting somewhat. It comes and goes. Not real bad pain. Just a aching
My mum has just been diagnosed with RA in her jaw, she has been offered Botox injections, physio, wash out or if it gets really bad to have a joint replacement, needless to say she has opted for physio & is on the waiting list. The doctor agreed with her decision, as she said that is what she would recommend.
I don't know if you have been offered any of those treatments, but if you are in a lot of pain, then I would mention them to your doctor.
