Hi, anyone recognise this? Know what it is? Just wondering what may cause it. Started about 2 years ago. Most of the time my palms and fingers are normal white. It's an intermittent thing but happens almost every day, they both turn quite red with white blotches . When it happens my hands feel like they are swollen but they aren't and they almost ache and just feel very strange.....

Not sure if the photo demonstrates it very well

Thanks for your responses. I've read about Raynaud's but I don't get the blue/ white fingers etc.

But interesting you talk about something silmilaroldtimer.

I was reading about "palmer erthema" last night. That's connected with RA it says.

The palms of my hands look more generally red with fewer white areas between and they are always warm. I don't have Raynaud's. Yes, it goes with the RD.

I have more red and less white patches, usually warm, swollen and uncomfortable. I have a band of "redness" from tip of pinkie down to my wrist on both hands and at the base of my thumb, still waiting for rheumy appointment, hopefully I won't wait too long 😁

My hands do the exact same. After a couple of years looking like yours I now have additional Raynaud red hot finger tips, this started a few months ago, but no white finger tips. My doc said that everything looked like raynauds of some sort and that it is a bed fellow if RA. She offered drugs calcium blockers?? but my occ therapist gave me odema gloves that help me, and I've avoided taking more tablets. the gloves might be worth a go. X

Hi. OK. So you think it may be a sign of early Raynaud's? Like in a mild way? My hands and feet are always (or at least very often) cold and this seems to happen when they start to warm up. In comparison with my other symptoms it's not a problem (now anyway) but interesting to know what it may be. Seeing Rheumatologist again in May/ June.

Thanks.

Ha, just found this (thanks oldtimer) after posting a pic of my own weird blotchy hands. No idea what it is.

bier spots? It's not a raynaud's syndrome

My nurse said it was inflammation.

To be honest that seems to be the answer to most of my questions though ;)
