It's not likely to suddenly be a medication side effect if you have been on it for ages - but remember that the medication is intended to reduce your immune response, so may well be some infection starting off. Remember to replace the fluid that you are losing together with a little bit of salt. Those replacement sachets are disgusting (but effective) or make up your own - I use barley water diluted with an added teaspoon of salt.

I've had chronic diarrhoea for a long time. Never in fact been constipated. Turns out I have diverticula disease! I'm pretty sure this was drug induced.

I've always eaten loads of roughage. So not a dietary issue.

Dotty, I've sent you a PM. You need to be seen as soon as possible, so ask for a 'phone consultation and I'm confident you will be seen at the earliest opportunity.

Look on the packet and see if you have used a different brand. A lot of people have similar problems with Quinoric, a specific brand of Hydroxy. I did not get GI symptoms the first time I used Hydroxy but I did get them when I used a brand of Hydroxy called Quinoric.

There's a lot of posts about this on here so do a search.
